CM Siddaramaiah Asks Elected Leaders From Karnataka To Join ‘Chalo Delhi’ Rally
Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah said on Tuesday that he has written a letter to all the elected leaders from the southern state, including Union Ministers Nirmala Sitharaman and Pralhad Joshi, to join the 'Chalo Delhi' protest.
Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah said on Tuesday that he has written a letter to all the elected leaders from the southern state, including Union Ministers Nirmala Sitharaman and Pralhad Joshi, to join the ‘Chalo Delhi’ protest. This rally is scheduled over tax devolution and grants-in-aid to the state.
The CM Siddaramaiah also wrote a letter to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. According to the official release, the protest will take place on Wednesday at the Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. In his letter, the CM stated that this rally is not a fight against any party but rather against injustice and discrimination in tax share and grant distribution by the central government inside the union system.
He also declared that he will launch a “Dharani satyagraha” in Delhi’s Jantar Mantar in order to preserve Karnataka’s future and the tranquil lifestyles of the Kannadigas. He continued, saying that it is everyone’s responsibility to inform the Delhi government of the injustices being done to the Kannadigas and to demand justice.
Taking to his official ‘X’ handle, Siddaramaiah said that he believes that all of the leaders will forget their partisanship and join the protest for the benefit of Karnataka. Earlier today, state Deputy CM DK Shivakumar held a press conference ahead of the protest in New Delhi.
After addressing the media at Vidhana Soudha, the Dy CM stressed that the planned protest is not anti-BJP and suggested all MLAs should join regardless of party affiliation on Wednesday. Meanwhile, BJP MP Tejasvi Surya from Bengaluru South refused the invitation and said that he would hold a press conference in the national capital to expose the Congress government in Karnataka.
