CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Orders Action Against Haldwani Miscreants
At least two people died and more than 100 police personnel were injured after sudden violence erupted in the Banbhoolpura area during an anti-encroachment drive.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami conducted an important high-level meeting with key government officials today in order to assess the current state of affairs at Banbhoolpura near Haldwani in the Nainital District. CM Dhami has ordered to take strict action against the miscreants involved in the violence that occurred on Thursday in Haldwani.
In view of the recent violence at Banbhulpura in Haldwani, a huge number of security personnel have been deployed. The Nainital District Magistrate, Vandana Singh, said that the incident is very unfortunate, and he expressed deep concern over the Haldwani violence incident.
Vandana Singh assured that the Haldwani miscreants will be identified very soon and strict action will be taken against them. Singh stressed that the incident was not communal and also clarified that no particular community was involved in the retaliation. Singh also mandated the shutdown of all universities and institutions and the suspension of internet access.
