Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will disburse the enhanced pension under the ‘YSR Pension Kanuka’ scheme. In this regard, CM Jagan today arrived in Kakinada to begin the disbursal of enhanced pensions to the elderly. Kakinada MLA Dwarampudi Chandrasekhar Reddy, MP Vanga Geeta, and many YSRCP workers and top government officials welcomed CM Jagan.
According to the latest report, CM Jagan will reach Rangaraya Medical College Grounds shortly, where he will distribute the increased YSR Pension Kanuka to the elderly. During the visit, CM Jagana will also address a massive public rally at Rangaraya Medical College grounds, where he will distribute the increased pension amount to the beneficiaries. After that, CM Jagan will launch many development works built in Kakinada with a cost of Rs. 94 crore in a virtual manner.
Under YSR Pension Kanuka, around 66 lakh social pension beneficiaries in the Andhra Pradesh state will receive an enhanced pension amount of Rs 3,000 from January 1, 2024 onwards. Under this scheme, the state government spending on the enhanced pension scheme is approximately 1,968 crore per year, which is almost five times more than the expenditure on social benefits allocated by the previous government.
