Opposition Questions UP Government Ban On Caste Symbols

Opposition parties criticized the Uttar Pradesh government’s directive banning caste-based rallies and symbols, calling it a mere eyewash. SP president Akhilesh Yadav questioned how the state plans to undo 5,000 years of deep-rooted caste discrimination. He also asked if caste-linked clothing, customs, and symbols would face similar restrictions.
