The Orissa High Court has urged swift action to address the alarming rise in elephant deaths, particularly from electrocution, following a suo motu petition. The court has given the state’s Principal Chief Conservator of Forests 10 days to submit an action plan. It also ordered collaboration with the power distribution company to prevent further fatalities and address elephant corridor issues.
