The Uttarakhand Cabinet under Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved the new film policy for increasing the subsidy for those making local films in the state.
Under Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Uttarakhand Cabinet has adopted a new film policy that will increase the support for indigenous filmmakers in the state. The Uttarakhand government has increased the subsidy for people producing Garhwali, Kumaoni, and Jaunsari films in the state eight times, according to the CMO statement.
The official release also noted that the subsidy for those shooting films in the state in 22 languages included in the Eighth Schedule has also been increased from ₹1.5 crore to ₹3 crore.
At its meeting on Saturday night, the Cabinet decided to accept this new film policy. Chief Minister Dhami of Uttarakhand visited spiritual guide Jagadguru Rambhadracharya earlier on Sunday. Rambhadracharya has been hospitalized to Synergy Hospital in Dehradun.
During his visit, the Chief Minister asked the physicians about Jagadguru Rambhadracharya’s health and wished him a swift recovery. Film subsidies are government programs that provide financial assistance to filmmakers, production firms, and studios. The most frequent types of financial aid are transferable tax credits and sales and use tax exemptions.
