Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has announced that the Telangana Talli statue will be unveiled at the Secretariat on December 9 this year, mirroring the grandeur of the Million March from the Telangana movement.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has announced that the Telangana Talli statue will be unveiled at the Secretariat on December 9 this year, mirroring the grandeur of the Million March from the Telangana movement.
On Wednesday, the Chief Minister performed Bhumi Puja for the statue’s installation, though the event was expedited due to the lack of auspicious days until Dasara and the absence of several officials, including the Deputy Chief Minister, who is on a tour.
Despite the hurried arrangements, the CM emphasized that the installation of the Telangana Talli statue signifies the triumph of the Telangana movement, acknowledging the long-standing aspirations of the Telangana people.
He also criticized the previous government for not allocating funds for the statue despite their large budget. The date of the unveiling is significant as it marks both the initiation of the Telangana state formation process by the UPA government led by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on December 9, 2009, and Sonia Gandhi’s birthday.
The ceremony is expected to be a grand event with participation from various officials, including R&B Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and members of the legislative and corporate bodies.
