The PIB has flagged over 50 deepfakes and misinformation circulating on social media in the past month. Many originated from “Pakistani propaganda” handles. Fake statements were attributed to top Indian leaders, including President Murmu, PM Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and others, highlighting growing online disinformation threats.
