Iran has halted its visa-free entry for Indian travelers from November 22 after rising cases of fraud, trafficking, and kidnappings involving Indians lured on false job or transit promises. The visa waiver, introduced in February 2024 for tourism, was misused by traffickers. India confirmed multiple incidents, prompting Tehran to restore mandatory visas for Indians.
