The government is preparing to fill around 500 vacant assistant professor posts across 13 universities, continuing contract faculty appointments meanwhile. Osmania University has 250 and Kakatiya University 145 vacancies. Amendments to GO 21 may raise the PhD weightage from 10 to 30 marks. A key announcement is expected during the upcoming budget session.
