Let us tell you that the Coimbatore car bomb attack occurred on October 23, 2022, in front of a historic temple, Arulmigu Kottai Sangameshwarar Thirukovil, on Eswaran Kovil Street in Ukkadam, Coimbatore.
In this case, a suicide bomber died when his vehicle-borne improvised explosive device exploded. According to NIA officials, the deceased accused, Jameesha Mubeen, drove the vehicle carrying the IED, and he was closely acquainted with Tahanaseer and Mohammad Thoufeeq, two other accused.
This case was initially recorded at the Ukkadam Police Station in Coimbatore and later turned over to the NIA. Investigations revealed that the deceased accused, Jameesha Mubeen, was heavily influenced and motivated by the violent ISIS doctrine.
Prior to carrying out the terror assault, Jamesha swore ‘bayath’ to Abu-Al-Hasan Al Hashmi Al Qureshi, the self-proclaimed Caliphate of ISIS at the time, according to the NIA. According to the agency, 15 people have already been arrested in connection with the bomb.
