The doors of the newly consecrated Ram Mandir in Ayodhya have been opened to the public today, January 23, 2024. The grand opening comes after an elaborate ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony that took place yesterday in the presence of PM Narendra Modi among the key figures.
In a historic moment for public the Ram temple in Ayodhya will welcome visitors during two time slots daily: from 7 AM to 11:30 AM and then from 2 PM to 7 PM. The focal point of Monday’s festivities is the installation of the Ram Lalla idol. This was a 51-inch tall figure crafted by Mysuru-based sculptor Arun Yogiraj.
On this cold winter’s day, a crowd of devotees rushed out of the temple complex; many of them had been waiting in line since 3 AM in the morning to enter the temple, see Ram Lalla, and to offer prayers. The temple is expected to draw lakhs of pilgrims and tourists in the coming days, who are eager to witness the divine structure and offer their prayers.
Ayodhya was engulfed in a spiritual atmosphere, the cold weather did not depress the fervent devotion of the followers. Chants of “Jai Shri Ram” and Ram bhajans filled the air, while a religious group from Bhopal, along with traditional dancers, contributed to the lively atmosphere with a “palki yatra.”
