Delhi To Launch App For Real-Time Action On Illegal Parking
The Delhi Police, Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), and New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) are set to launch a mobile application aimed at tackling illegal parking in real-time.
The Delhi Police, Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), and New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) are set to launch a mobile application aimed at tackling illegal parking in real-time. Residents will be able to upload photos of illegally parked vehicles through the app, prompting immediate action from the authorities. This initiative follows a review meeting chaired by Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena on Friday.
Initially, the app will be piloted in NDMC areas, with gardeners in these zones responsible for uploading images of offending vehicles. To encourage gardener participation, the Raj Bhawan is exploring possible incentives. Additionally, the Traffic Police have been tasked with ensuring the efficient use of multi-level parking spaces, starting with pilot zones in Kamla Nagar and Yusuf Sarai Market. To promote these spaces, discounts will be offered, and special incentives will be provided for electric vehicles.
The Lieutenant Governor has also directed the Traffic Police to enforce the use of designated bus lanes by heavy vehicles to improve traffic flow. Coordination with the Transport Department will be prioritized to expedite the removal of outdated police vehicles from city yards. These measures aim to enhance traffic management and reduce congestion across Delhi.
