The IMD has issued a heatwave alert for Delhi, UP, and five other states, with extreme heat expected to last two weeks. Daytime temperatures will stay above normal, while nights are also getting warmer. While the plains sizzle, heavy rain and hail are forecast for the northeast and parts of southern India, offering some local relief.
