Bahraich Violence: Shopkeepers Self-Demolish Shops To Avoid Bulldozer Action

In Uttar Pradesh’s Bahraich, shopkeepers have started demolishing illegal portions of their shops after receiving PWD notices to vacate due to unauthorized construction. After communal tensions that escalated after a 22-year-old’s death, 23 establishments were served notices. To avoid govt bulldozer action and related costs, shopkeepers are voluntarily dismantling the structures.
