The Centre has revoked the detention of climate activist Sonam Wangchuk with immediate effect under the National Security Act. Wangchuk was detained on September 26, 2025, after protests in Leh over statehood and Sixth Schedule demands. The government said he had served nearly half his detention, and engagement with Ladakh stakeholders continues.
