UP Bypolls: ECI Suspends 7 Police Officers After Samajwadi Party Complaints

Election Commission of India (ECI) asked authorities in UP to ensure fair bypolls in the state. This comes after controversy erupted over checking of voters’ identity. ECI suspended at least seven police personnel for violating voter guidelines based on complaints by Samajwadi Party. “Any kind of biased attitude during voting will not be tolerated,” ECI declared.
