Karnataka Raises Compensation For Wildlife Attack Victims

Karnataka Minister Eshwar B Khandre clarified that legal heirs of wildlife attack victims are not eligible for government jobs. Families instead receive financial support: compensation increased from Rs 15 lakh to Rs 20 lakh from April 2025, along with a monthly pension of Rs 4,000 for five years to a dependent family member.
