Who Is Jay Bhattacharya, Trump’s Choice To Lead NIH?

President-elect Donald Trump has nominated Stanford professor Jay Bhattacharya, a critic of COVID-19 policies, to lead the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Bhattacharya, an economist and physician, co-authored the 2020 Great Barrington Declaration and sued the government over censorship of his views. As NIH director, he will oversee medical research institutes and centers.
