The IMD said the southwest monsoon is expected to reach Kerala within 2-3 days, with favourable conditions for its further advance over parts of the Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal, and southern states. The onset, earlier expected on May 26, was delayed. The department also warned India may receive below-normal rainfall due to emerging El Nino conditions.
