CDSCO Begins Probe Into Toxic Cough Syrups

CDSCO has launched audits and asked states to submit lists of cough syrup manufacturers following over 20 child deaths. Three syrups, Coldrif, Respifresh, and ReLife, were found to contain deadly diethylene glycol. CDSCO informed WHO and confirmed that none of the contaminated products were exported from India.
