How Cyclones & Typhoons Get Their Names In South Asia

Cyclone and typhoon names in South Asia are selected by the World Meteorological Organization’s (WMO) regional committee, which includes 13 member countries such as India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Myanmar. Each nation submits a list of names in advance. The names are used sequentially to ensure easy identification and communication.
