The Sensex slid 400.76 points (0.47%) to close at 85,231.92, while the Nifty 50 dropped 124 points (0.47%) to finish at 26,068.15. The rupee weakened, trading near ₹88.81 to the dollar. The Nifty retraced after hitting its 52-week high of 26,246.65 in the previous session.
