Senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi reportedly spoke to D.K. Shivakumar over the phone, congratulating and wishing him well ahead of his expected elevation as Karnataka CM. Shivakumar said he assured her of inclusive leadership and unity within the party, adding that Gandhi has always shown trust in him since appointing him state party president.
