Uttarakhand Cadet Vanishes Off Sri Lankan Ship Coast

A 22‑year‑old merchant navy cadet from Dehradun, Karandeep Singh Rana, disappeared on September 20 while aboard an oil tanker sailing from Iraq to China via Sri Lanka. His family appealed to the Uttarakhand CM, Pushkar Singh Dhami, and the central government for help. The ship’s owner reported he went missing during deck duty.
