Heavy rains and strong winds from ‘Cyclone Montha’ have caused severe damage to crops in Guntur and Prakasam districts of Andhra Pradesh. Vast areas of banana, paddy, mirchi, papaya, and betel nut plantations were destroyed due to waterlogging. Farmers are distressed as their fields remain submerged, while officials have issued alerts.
