Reliance Jio, led by Mukesh Ambani, has urged India’s telecom regulator, TRAI, to reconsider the government’s plan to allocate satellite spectrum administratively rather than through an auction. The move, opposed by Reliance, could benefit foreign rivals like Elon Musk’s Starlink, which is eyeing the Indian market after its success in Africa. Reliance argues the allocation method is “discriminatory”.
