Tripura Tribal Council Polls: Tipra Motha Crushes BJP

Tipra Motha Party, led by Pradyot Barma, won a landslide victory in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council elections 2026, securing 24 of 28 seats. The BJP managed only 4 seats, down from 9 in 2021. Despite being coalition partners, both parties contested separately in the tribal council polls, witnessing high voter turnout.
