President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated various tourist attractions at Rashtrapati Nilayam in Secunderabad. The attraction includes a replica of a historic flag post, a maze garden, a children’s park, restored step wells, traditional irrigation systems, Shiva and Nandi sculptures, and new enclaves in the knowledge gallery.
Rashtrapati Nilayam is the President of India’s official retreat. Among the attractions inaugurated by the President, the 36-meter-tall Flag Post is a mark of Hyderabad’s integration into the Indian Union in 1948.
The Maze Garden had Murraya Exotica, while the children’s park is built for younger visitors. The Knowledge Gallery also got two new enclaves: one of them is about Hyderabad unification, and the other one is about Rashtrapati Bhavan and the Presidents of India.
The restored three-step wells will capture a significant amount of rainwater annually. This will increase water security and local resource sustainability in the Rashtrapati Nilayam. At the same time, the traditional irrigation systems will make visitors aware of their heritage.
