Prime Minister Narendra Modi got emotional as he talked about the PMAY housing scheme in Maharashtra’s Solapur. This happened during the inaugural address of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-Urban) scheme in Solapur.
“Today, the country’s largest society, built under PMAY, has been inaugurated. It was my promise in 2014, and coming back to see it is a fulfilling moment. I wish I too had gotten the chance to live in such a house when I was a child,” PM Modi said in address.
The beneficiaries of the housing scheme include handloom workers, vendors, power loom workers, ragpickers, bidi workers, and drivers, among others. “This pledge we took for the thousands of poor and laborers in Solapur is being fulfilled. I am very happy to witness this.
When I came here to lay the foundation stone of this project, I gave you the guarantee that I would come back to give the keys to your houses,” the PM remembered. “Now, Modi has fulfilled his guarantee. just remember that Modi’s Guarantee means ‘Guarantee Ke Poora Hone Ki Guarantee’!” he said.
Modi emphasized his government’s dedication to the welfare of the poor. He also mentioned the implementation of schemes to make poor people’s lives easier. He also highlighted the challenges poor people faced under the previous governments. He reiterated his commitment to a government dedicated to the welfare of the poor since 2014.
