Story:
A well-known journalist (Udaya Bhanu) starts a news station called NNC with the mission of providing the audience with nothing but the truth. She doesn’t care about money and is highly socially conscious. After she names an upright journalist, Chetan (Nara Rohit), as the CEO of the business, he begins to expose dishonest political figures. At this point, CM Prajapathi (Sachin Khedekar) is killed. Who is the assassin’s accomplice? What motivates the assassin? Has Chetan been able to identify the assassins? This is the main idea of Prathindhi 2.
Pros:
The hero exposes dishonest leaders in a plot that is recognizable from the first half. There are some well-handled parts, despite their typical nature. Through a live show, the protagonist uncovers the true nature of corrupt politicians by challenging them. The hero additionally attempts to enlighten the populace via a video byte on the need for voting. The movie’s goals and message are commendable, even though these moments aren’t particularly original, which helps to elevate the first half.
We forget the familiar landscape due to the astute conversation and quick-paced narrative. To a certain extent, we are engaged by the Sapthagiri comedy track, the scenes prior to and following the by-poll, and the relatively good intermission twist. Nara Rohit returned to the big screen following a hiatus, and he performed admirably in the picture. The actor did a decent job portraying an honest reporter who investigates injustices to every degree possible. His delivery of the dialogue is unaffected. The performances of Sapthagiri, Udaya Bhanu, Dinesh Teja, and Sachin Khedekar are passable.
Cons:
Well, to put it mildly, the second half is completely lacking. In the second half, the CBI’s probe into the CM’s assassination takes center stage, while the entire first half is devoted to exposing political corruption. However, it appears quite ridiculous how the inquiry process is presented. The well-meaning intentions are undermined by the caricatured portrayal of prominent figures and officials. In an attempt to give the movie a more commercial feel, the director totally disregards the logical components. The film features a number of scenarios that defy logic and go too far. Nothing about the procedures is serious or in order. The film would have fulfilled its objective if the creators had used a genuine strategy devoid of flimsy aspects. It would have been better to skip the romance song and give the protagonist’s early years more context. A cliffhanger at the end sets up the next section, but it doesn’t really pique curiosity.
Technical Aspects:
The cinematography by Nani Chamidisetty is just ok, and the music by Mahati Swara Sagar isn’t very good. The majority of the picture has a rapid pace, and the editing is excellent. The visual effects are badly done. Large crowd scenes and Ajay’s airport climactic sequence appear strange when viewed on a large screen. The direction of Murthy Devagupthapu is inadequate. Although there are some interesting moments in the first half, the director was unable to maintain the same pace throughout the last hour. Although there is sincerity in the attempt, the film falls short because of its clumsy scripting and insertion of commercial aspects.
Verdict:
Prathinidhi 2 has a solid premise overall, but its intended message is hindered by its flimsy writing. The first half is mediocre, with a few interesting moments, but Nara Rohit excels as a sincere journalist. However, the scenes in the second half are poorly written and fall flat like a pack of cards. Even though the movie has the potential to be a sincere political drama, it eventually fails.
