Story: Talakona native Sahadev Varma (Ravi Teja) grows uncommon wild cotton. Journalist Nalini (Anupama Parameswaran) finds that Sahadev’s unusual cotton has a sizable European market. Nalini gets into difficulties after writing an article about him. She finds out that Sahadev is the target of the greatest desire for terrorists, naxals, and RAW. This Sahadev—who is he? Why is he the target of these groups? How come he’s in Talakona? The solutions are in the movie.
Pros: With Eagle, Ravi Teja ventured into uncharted territory and did something different. In his role as Sahadev, the actor brilliantly portrayed his age. He has amazing screen presence, body language, and get-up. Even if we don’t see Ravi Teja as usual, his nuanced performance still wows. In every action scene, he is excellent. Throughout the promotional interviews, the director insisted that Eagle address a worldwide problem. The global issue that the movie explores is still very relevant. The director tackled a subject that seems to be on everyone’s mind these days. It’s a really good fit with the love story. The comedy by Ajay Ghosh is passable.
Kavya Thapar portrays a role that has greater weight despite having less time, and she performs admirably in it. The romantic song is original and logical. The incredible action scenes in Eagle will delight all action enthusiasts. The action scenes are masterfully designed and captured on camera. The inventiveness of the action choreographers is commendable. The camera movements and production quality are incredible during the battle scenes. Avasarala Srinivas, Vinay Rai, Anupama, and others are good.
Cons: “Eagle” movie could have done much better in the first half. Elevations are a key motif later in the movie. The film opens on an intriguing note. In an attempt to unravel the enigma around the protagonist’s character, the director used altitudes, but ultimately it becomes repetitive and a touch boring. The first half of the film moves slowly, with the major story not revealed until the interval. The team tried something fresh with the lines, but they were difficult to comprehend and eventually got annoying. This could possibly work partially against the film. Several instances make it clear that the director has drawn inspiration from a diverse selection of films. Although a sequel is hinted at towards the end, which will lessen the impact, the story may have ended better.
Technical Aspects: Eagle is one of the greatest Telugu films ever made, technically speaking. Though criticisms regarding Telugu cinema’s technical standards are common, Eagle is a strong film in terms of technical aspects. The action scenes and photography in particular are breathtaking. The filmmakers should be commended for presenting the film in such a chic way while staying within their budget. The songs are okay, but the background score is good. The film could have been somewhat edited by the editing team.
Karthik Ghattamaneni, the director, handled Eagle fairly well. His first half was dull, but his second half, which mixes flair and depth, more than makes up for it. Though Ravi Teja was presented in a distinctive form by Karthik, he ought to have paid more attention to the initial section and the conversation.
Verdict: “Eagle” movie primarily addresses a worldwide issue, and the majority of the second half is captivating. The movie’s highlights include Ravi Teja’s new persona, his nuanced acting, and its great action scenes. The director’s choice to feature a new-age action film is commendable, but there are times when the film goes beyond with boring dialogue and build-up scenes. Furthermore, the first half required far greater performance. You can attempt it if you don’t mind these disadvantages.
