The renowned Kanipakam Temple is celebrating Vinayaka Chavithi with grandeur, as the ‘Varasiddhi Vinayaka Swamy Brahmotsavam’ is set to take place from September 7 to 27.
A special abhishekam will be conducted at 3 am on Chavithi day, after which devotees will be allowed to have darshan. Temple officials have announced that all arjitha services will be canceled during the Brahmotsavam festivities.
The Kanipakam Temple, located in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh, is renowned for its ancient deity, Varasiddhi Vinayaka Swamy.
The temple is believed to have been established over a thousand years ago, and it attracts thousands of devotees annually. A significant feature of the temple is its sacred idol of Lord Ganesha, which is reputed to be self-manifested or Swayambhu.
Legend has it that the idol emerged from a naturally occurring rock formation. The temple is famous for its annual Brahmotsavam festival, a 21-day celebration of grandeur and devotion.
Kanipakam Temple is also known for its historical significance and architectural beauty, showcasing a blend of ancient South Indian temple design.
