For the first time in Bihar, no deaths occurred and no re-polling was held in any constituency. In the past elections, Bihar has experienced violence, deaths and re-election. In the 1985 elections, 63 persons were dead, and re-polling was ordered in 156 booths. In the 1990 elections, 87 people were dead in poll-related violence.
