First-Time Homebuyers Likely To Get Perks: Interim Budget 2024 Expectations
Interestingly, there is huge excitement and expectation among people and corporate firms with just 4 days left for the Interim Budget of FY 2024–25 presentation in Parliament.
Ahead of the interim Budget 2024–25, the top real estate players lay stress on rising tax slabs and revised affordability caps on their wishlist. Meanwhile, the real estate players also advocated for incentives, anticipating a budget that addresses critical challenges, stimulates demand, and aligns with the government’s vision of sustainable growth.
The real estate leaders called for the expansion of the SWAMIH (Special Window for Affordable and Mid-Income Housing) stress fund. In addition to that, they called for tax reliefs for first-time homebuyers and the reintroduction of GST with an input tax credit on under-construction properties to stimulate demand.
The President of NAREDCO Maharashtra, Sandeep Runwal, stressed the real estate industry’s anticipation of transformative changes in the upcoming interim budget of 2024–25. Sandeep also highlighted the real estate sector’s pivotal role in the economy and its crucial employment contribution.
