Politics Are Being Done In The Name Of God: YSRCP Chief Jagan

Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSRCP Chief Jagan Mohan Reddy has criticized the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) for using religious sentiments for political gain amid allegations regarding the quality of laddus offered as prasad at the Tirupati temple. Reddy dismissed TDP’s claims that animal fats and fish oil were present in the laddus, labeling these accusations as “atrocious” and a diversion from TDP’s governance issues.

Reddy pointed out that the lab report cited by TDP dates back to July, during N. Chandrababu Naidu’s tenure, and emphasized that his administration had previously flagged concerns about the quality of ghee supplied by AR Dairy. He stated, “We informed the then Chief Minister, Naidu, about the bad quality of ghee,” and noted that under his regime, products were rejected 18 times due to quality issues.

He elaborated on the tender process for procuring ghee, explaining that it occurs every six months with stringent qualification criteria, including the necessity for suppliers to provide NABL and product quality certificates. The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) conducts regular quality checks on samples collected from suppliers. Reddy accused TDP of politicizing religious matters and claimed that these allegations were an attempt to distract from their failures in governance, particularly regarding unfulfilled poll promises.
