Computer-based testing, or CBT, was used for the exams. In total, 10,67,955 students took the Paper 1 (BE/BTech) exams in the second session. 15 people from Telangana, 7 from Andhra Pradesh, 7 from Maharashtra, and 6 from Delhi are among the people who received a perfect score.
According to the NTA, thirty-nine candidates who participated in exam misconduct were prohibited from making further efforts for three years. Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu were among the thirteen languages in which the exams were administered. There were 571 exam centers spread across 319 locations for the JEE (Main) 2024 second session, with 22 centers abroad. Approximately 544 locations in 291 cities, including 21 locations outside of the nation, hosted the initial session.
All categories have seen the highest point in the last five years in the necessary JEE (main) percentile for eligibility to the JEE (advanced). After increasing from 90.7 in 2023 to 88.4 in 2022, the minimum cutoff for the general category is now 93.2 this year. The NTA is required by policy to publish percentiles rather than raw results for public disclosure. Instead of using a candidate’s raw exam scores, the percentile score—a normalized score—is utilized to create merit lists.
