As India’s 78th Independence Day approaches on August 15, 2024, the nation is filled with excitement and anticipation. Tomorrow marks the day when, at the stroke of midnight on August 14, 1947, India gained its independence.
Preparations are in full swing across the country, particularly at the iconic Red Fort in New Delhi, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hoist the national flag and deliver his 11th consecutive Independence Day speech.
The minister of state for defence, Sanjay Seth, conducted an inspection of the preparations at the Red Fort. He expressed appreciation for the efforts of NCC cadets, NSS volunteers, and the officials and personnel involved in the event’s organization, as noted by the Press Information Bureau.
In Srinagar, the capital of Jammu and Kashmir, residents have been treated to a vibrant display of lights, with street lamps adorned in tricolor hues. Meanwhile, in Reasi, Jammu and Kashmir, a Tiranga rally featuring a 750-meter-long tricolor was held on the world’s highest railway bridge over the Chenab River.
The Indian Coast Guard participated in the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign by hoisting the national flag underwater on the eve of Independence Day, showcasing a unique display of patriotism.
In Leh, Ladakh, a Tiranga Yatra took place from Col. Rinchen’s Memorial to the Hall of Fame, where several Army personnel proudly marched with Indian flags.
In Patna, police personnel were spotted conducting a full dress rehearsal in preparation for the grand celebrations tomorrow. Across the nation, from Delhi to Srinagar, the spirit of independence and unity is palpable as India gears up to celebrate its 78th Independence Day.
