While the action adventure "Salaar," starring Prabhas, has received positive box office reviews in India, the film will need to work hard to break even in the United States. A foreign distributor reports, "It opened very well in the USA and North America as Prabhas fans flocked to theaters and celebrated the action episodes and machismo of Prabhas."
Though Prabhas’ action epic “Salaar” has opened to favorable reviews in India, it will take a lot of effort for the movie to turn a profit here in the US. According to a distributor overseas, “It opened very well in the USA and North America as Prabhas fans flocked to theaters and celebrated the action episodes and machismo of Prabhas.” Owing to the excitement about Prabhas and Prashanth Neel, the film also made a handsome sum of Rs 5.8 million in the US. “However, it must take some time to break even for distributors who made large investments,” he says.
He contends that even if Prabhas’s masterwork has everything necessary to be a hit movie, a few elements are absent and could lead to issues in the future. “US citizens will be going on a long holiday, and crowds are going to dwindle in theaters after Christmas celebrations and thereafter,” he states. He goes on to say, “So, ‘Salaar’, which has to make more than Rs 15 million US dollars to break even, has to garner huge collections in the days to come.”Prabhas undoubtedly made a return with “Salaar,” which had amazing premieres, but this week, the US distributors are wishing for luck.
