The Asus ROG Phone 8 series is expected to be released shortly. The ROG Phone 7 and ROG Phone 7 Ultimate were part of the Asus ROG Phone 7 lineup when it was announced in April of this year. However, the next series might include the ROG Phone 8 Ultimate, ROG Phone 8 Pro, and ROG Phone 8 in its vanilla form. Asus stated in a post on X that the ROG Phone 8 series will make its debut on January 9 at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2024 in Las Vegas. The business also disclosed that on January 16 at 7:30 p.m. local time (5 p.m. IST), the ROG Phone 8 range will make its debut in the Chinese market. One of the forthcoming variants is shown in the official teaser image with a modified rectangular camera module; this model was also shown in an earlier teaser with a USB connector on the side.
The most recent Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC from Qualcomm will be included in the ROG Phone 8 series models, as Asus had previously disclosed. The ROG Phone 8 Ultimate, however, appears to be running Android 14 with ROG UI on top and may have up to 24GB of RAM, according to a Geekbench listing. An additional item said that the device would be compatible with 5G connectivity and 65W rapid charging. Additionally, an Asus ROG Phone 8 variant with the model number “ASUS_AI2401_A” and up to 16GB of RAM was detected on Geekbench. This variety is thought to be either the base or the Pro model. The ROG Phone 8 series’ arrival in India has not yet been officially confirmed by the manufacturer. Nevertheless, the 12GB + 256GB version of the ROG Phone 7 costs Rs. 74,999 in India, while the 16GB + 512GB version of the ROG Phone 7 Ultimate is priced at Rs. 99,999. Storm White is the color option for the handsets, and Phantom Black is an extra color available for the base model. With a 6,000mAh battery and compatibility for 65W cable fast charging, both variants are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoCs.
