In fact, Balasouri contested the 2019 Lok Sabha polls as a YSR Congress Party candidate from Machilipatnam constituency and won a 60,141 majority over the Telugu Desam Party's Konakalla Narayana Rao.
The Lok Sabha member from Machilipatnam in Andhra Pradesh, Balasouri, will join the Jana Sena Party (JSP) very soon. In this regard, Machilipatnam MP Vallabhaneni Balasouri met JSP president Pawan Kalyan in Hyderabad on Friday. It is known that recently, MP Balasouri resigned from the primary membership of the ruling YSR Congress party.
Meanwhile, the meeting with JSF supremo assumes significance after Balasouri’s resignation from the YSRCP after the party high command denied him a ticket to contest again from Machilipatnam Lok Sabha constituency. According to political sources, Balasouri is likely to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha polls either from Machilipatnam or Guntur.
Interestingly, Balasouri is the second MP to have resigned from the YSRC in recent times, with the first being Kurnool MP Dr. S Sanjeev Kumar. He also had a conflict of interest with Machilipatnam MLA Perni Venkataramaiah (Nani) and Pedana MLA (Housing Minister) Jogi Ramesh for quite some time.
