Lal Darwaja Mahankali Bonalu Kickstarts In Hyderabad Today
On the occasion of the Bonalu festival, Telangana Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka will present silk cloths to Goddess 'Mahankali' at Lal Darwaja Simhavahini Temple.
The prestigious Lal Darwaja Mahankali Bonalu festival has begun in the old city of Hyderabad this morning. Along with the Simhavahini temple in the old city, at least 330 other temples were also decorated with splendor.
On the occasion of the Bonalu festival, Telangana Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka will present silk cloths to Goddess ‘Mahankali’ at Lal Darwaja Simhavahini Temple.
The Hyderabad Police imposed traffic restrictions in several parts of the city due to the Lal Darwaja Mahankali Bonalu festiva. These restrictions will be in place for the next two days, and motorists are asked to cooperate with the police.
These traffic restrictions will be imposed until Monday night in the areas of Falaknuma, Charminar, Mir Chowk, Bahudurpura, and several parts of Old City.
The Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, will arrive at Bhagyalakshmi temple at 11 a.m. and perform a special pooja for the goddress. After that, he will participate in the Lal Darwaja Mahankali Bonalu festival in the old city. Officials have made all arrangements for Sanjay’s visit.
The ‘Lal Darwaja Bonalu was first started by Maharaja Kishan in 1907. The then-Nawab of Hyderabad, Mir Mahbub Ali Khan, donated land for this bonalu festival. Moreover, the land was donated for the construction of several Hindu temples.
