The Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC), the apparel exporters body, today sought tax incentives to boost domestic manufacturing and India’s outbound shipments. Meanwhile, the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) has sought uniformity in goods and services tax for the entire value chain in view of the central government’s interim budget for 2024.
In addition to that, the apparel exporters body has been urged to provide tax incentives to apparel manufacturers adopting Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) and other international quality standards and compliances. Meanwhile, the apparel exporters also sought budgetary support for the branding and marketing of made-in-India products.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the interim budget of FY 2024–25 on February 1, 2024. Interestingly, there is huge excitement and expectation among people and corporate firms with just 8 days left for the Interim Budget of FY 2024–25 presentation in Parliament.
The upcoming 2024 interim budget statement will not have any major policies and will just be considered a placeholder until the 2024 Lok Sabha polls are conducted and a new government is formed. However, an interim budget, which is similar to a full budget, is deliberated and approved in the Lok Sabha.
