Govt Issues New Rules For Phone Interception In Emergencies

Government has introduced new rules for phone interception, authorizing officers not below the rank of inspector general of police at the state level to issue interception orders in emergencies. However, if the competent authority does not confirm the order within seven working days, the intercepted messages will be inadmissible and must be deleted.
