Assam: First-Ever Tagging Of Ganges River Dolphin Organized

Assam’s first-ever tagging of the iconic Ganges River Dolphin, found in Ganga River, has been conducted. It helps to understand the seasonal & migratory patterns, range, distribution & habitat use of dolphins, particularly in fragmented systems. Wildlife Institute of India, in collaboration with the Assam Forest Department & Aranyak, tagged a healthy male river dolphin & released it under veterinary care.
