Did You Know? Alaska’s Utqiagvik Faces 2 Months Of Darkness

Utqiagvik, located in USA’s Alaska, has entered its annual polar night, leaving residents without sunrise for about two months. The community last saw the sun on November 18 and will remain in darkness until January 22, 2026. In summer, the sun shines 24 hours a day. Utqiagvik’s population is small, with only around 4,000-5,000 people.
