Chinese scientists at Northwestern Polytechnical University have developed the underwater phantom, a jellyfish-like robot for silent ocean surveillance. Made of transparent hydrogel and powered by an electrostatic actuator, it moves like real jellyfish. With an AI chip and camera, it identifies marine life and monitors ecosystems without causing disturbance.
