Sanchar Saathi App: Security Tool Or Snooping App?

A huge uproar has erupted after Sanchar Saathi was mandated to come pre-installed on all new smartphones sold in India. The Sanchar Saathi app, designed by the telecom ministry, helps users track or block lost and stolen phones using IMEI and verify if a handset is genuine. It also reports suspicious calls, SMS, or messages via its ‘Chakshu’ new feature.
