India To Acquire 76 Naval Utility Helicopters In Defence Upgrade

In a major post-Operation Sindoor move, India will acquire 76 Naval Utility Helicopters—51 for the Navy, 25 for the Coast Guard—under the ‘Buy & Make (Indian)’ scheme. These multi-role choppers will enhance maritime capabilities across SAR, CASEVAC, HADR, and LIMO missions, boosting coastal defence with weapon-equipped, twin-engine aircraft.
