For their misbehavior and refusal to follow the Chair’s instructions, 47 opposition MPs were suspended for the duration of the winter session. The motion to suspend these MPs was made by Pralhad Joshi, the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs.
BJP MP Rajendra Agrawal, presiding over the House’s reorganization at 3 p.m. following earlier adjournments, stated that the MPs had been disobeying the norms. “With your permission, I move the following: this House has taken severe notice of the misbehavior of ET Mohammed Basheer, A Raja, Dayanidhi Maran, Afrooq Poddar, Prasoon Banerjee, and Kalyan Bannerjee.
